Hatboro Police Department Highlights Thanksgiving Seat Belt Enforcement Results

Borough of Hatboro– The Hatboro Police Department made 33 vehicle contacts and issued 29 citations along the York Road corridor during the recent national Thanksgiving “Click It or Ticket” Enforcement Mobilization which ran from November 19 through December 2. Of the 29 citations issued, 4 were for not wearing seat belts. Citations were also issued for offenses such as speeding and driving on roadways laned for traffic. In addition, during the mobilization 6 individuals were cited for driving with a suspended license and or driving with no insurance and removed from the roadway.

The Hatboro Police Department joined more than 250 other law enforcement agencies in an effort to increase seat-belt use and reduce the number of unbelted injuries and deaths.

Wearing your seat belt is your best defense against injury or death in the event of a crash. A seat belt increases your chances of surviving a crash by up to 60 percent.
