Theft/Fraud
On Wednesday, May 23rd, 2018, a commercial business on N. York Road reported they were the victim of a fraudulent wire transfer. The fraudulent transfer was made to a bank account in Arizona for a large sum of money. The matter is still under investigation.
Theft
On Monday, May 21st, 2018, at 12:36am, officers checked on a subject who was sleeping on a bench at the Hatboro SEPTA Train Station on S. Penn Street. When the subject was awakened, it was discovered his back-pack was stolen by someone while he slept. The stolen pack was a black Ozark Trail brand, and it contained clothing, cologne, a state identification card, and some tools. The total estimated loss from the theft is approximately $200.
Theft/Fraud (attempt)
On Saturday, May 19th, 2018, a resident from Meadowbrook Avenue reported that unknown person(s) in Florida attempted to cash a fraudulent cashier check from one of his accounts. The check was for a large sum of money but the transaction was declined by the bank. The victim did not sustain any loss from the fraud attempt.
Credit Card Fraud
On Thursday, May 17th, 2018, a resident from E. Moreland Avenue reported that unknown person(s) attempted to use a fraudulent credit card in their name at a GAP store. The purchase was declined by the store and the victim did not sustain any loss from the fraud attempt.
