19-year-old Abington man taken into custody following a crash in the first block of S. York Road, Hatboro:

Hatboro, PA (March 29, 2019): Hatboro Borough Police Chief James E.
Gardner reports the Hatboro Police are investigating a one vehicle crash that occurred at approximately 12:25 A.M. on March 29, 2019 on S. York Road in Hatboro.

Hatboro Police responded to a report of a vehicle striking a building in the first block of S. York Road. Upon arrival officers discovered a 2007 BMW had struck the front of a business on S. York Road. The vehicle completely penetrated the front wall of the business. The operator of the vehicle was identified as a 19-year-old man from the 1500 block of Prospect Avenue in Willow Grove, PA.

Hatboro Police took the driver into custody for suspicion of DUI. The investigation into the crash is on-going and charges against the driver are pending the toxicology results of a blood test. No one was injured in the crash.

Police were assisted at the scene by the Enterprise Fire Company of Hatboro
and the Borough’s Code Enforcement Department. Emergency workers remained on scene for several hours following the crash while the structural integrity of the building was determined, and temporary repairs were made.
