July 13, 2020 Hatboro Police Department Routine Press Release

CRIMINAL CHARGES, AND ANY DISCUSSION THEREOF, ARE MERELY ALLEGATIONS AND ALL DEFENDANTS ARE PRESUMED INNOCENT UNTIL AND UNLESS PROVEN GUILTY.

Theft: Sometime over night between Friday, July 10, 2020 and Saturday, July 11, 2020 person(s) unknown cutdown and stole a pride flag in Miller Meadow in the 400 block of S. York Road.  The flag had a monetary value of $30. The rope and hardware value were estimated at $200.

Theft: Hatboro Police received a report on Monday, July 13, 2020 that a flag in support of President Trump was stolen overnight from the bed of his truck while parked in the 100 block of W. Lehman Avenue.  The victim also reported that person(s) unknown stole a “thin blue line” flag from the vehicle on July 2, 2020. The monetary value is not known.

DUI Arrest: Hatboro Police arrested Peter Mastropietro, 66, of Harding Avenue, Hatboro on Sunday, July 12, 2020 at approximately 11:39 PM following a traffic stop on Jacksonville Road.  Mastropietro was charged with Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol or Controlled Substance and Vehicle Entering a Roadway.  He was released from custody and charged via summons.

Theft: An amount of U.S. Currency was stolen from a parked vehicle in the 200 block of Jacksonville Road sometime between 10 PM, Friday, July 10, 2020 and 9:30 AM, Saturday, July 11, 2020. It is believed the vehicle was unlocked at the time of the theft.  Police are not releasing the exact amount stolen.

Attempted Theft from Vehicle: At approximately 3:50 AM on Saturday, July 11, 2020 a resident of the 100 block of Manor Road reported observing a male, thin build, wearing dark clothing, white gloves and a mask walking across a lawn.  The male was observed pulling on a door handle to a vehicle.  The caller yelled at the male who fled on foot.  The report to police was not made until later that morning. 

Theft of Firearm: On Sunday, July 12, 2020 a Glock 17 9mm handgun was reportedly stolen from an unlocked vehicle while parked in the first block of S. Penn Street.  The theft reportedly occurred between July 4, 2020 and July 5, 2020.  The owner told police he thought he just may have misplaced the weapon, accounting for the delay in the report to police.

Harassment by Communications: Hatboro Police are investigating a serious of harassing telephone calls made to a business in the 300 block of Warminster Road.  The business reported the matter to police on Wednesday, July 8, 2020. 

Crime Prevention Tip: Hatboro Police continue to urge people to please lock your vehicles at all times and do not store valuables, such as money, electronics, credit cards, jewelry and weapons in your vehicle at any time. Please call 9-1-1 to report suspicious activity immediately when observed.
