Illegal Possession of Firearm, et al
On Sunday, 3/22/2020 at approximately 2:54 AM a Hatboro Police officer observed a male subject acting suspiciously near residences and businesses in the 400 block of Jacksonville Road. The officer attempted to speak with the subject who immediately ran from the officer. A foot chase ensued, and the individual fell while running near 419 Jacksonville Road. As two Hatboro officers approached the subject, he sprang up and attempted to run again. When he did so, the officers noticed that a handgun fell from the persons waist band area. The officers were able to take the subject into custody and secured the handgun. The subject was also found to be in possession of drug paraphernalia. As a result, Steven J. Janson, 40, of the 200 block of Greene Road, Warminster was arrested and charged with Possession of Firearm Prohibited, Firearms Not to Be Carried Without a License, Resisting Arrest or other Law Enforcement, Loitering and Prowling at Nighttime and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.
At the time of his arrest, Janson was wearing black clothing and was also in possession of a black ski mask and two pocketknives.
Janson was arraigned by District Judge Suzan Leonard of Blue Bell and remanded to the Montgomery County Correctional Facility in lieu of $50,000 bail.
Public Drunkenness / Trespassing:
On Saturday, 03/21/2020 at approximately 4:04 PM police arrested Kenneth Sheldon, 47, of the first block of Rorer Avenue, Hatboro after he illegally entered another residence and a vehicle on Rorer Avenue. Sheldon was taken into custody and will be charged via summons with Criminal Trespass, Disorderly Conduct and Public Drunkenness and Similar Misconduct.
DUI:
Hatboro Police responded to a traffic accident near the intersection of Horsham Road and Continental Road on Friday, 3/21/2020 at approximately 11:35 A.M. As a result, police arrested Christopher Yeager, 50, of the 400 block of Crescent Road for DUI and related offences. The investigation revealed that Yeager was operating his vehicle eastbound on the Pennsylvania Turnpike when he is alleged to have struck another vehicle and left the scene. The other operator called police to inform of the accident and followed the striking vehicle which exited the Turnpike at Willow Grove and ultimately crashed into a utility pole and another property on Horsham Road. Yeager will be charged with DUI and related offense via summons. Yeager received minor injuries and no others were injured.
Theft:
A television, valued at $300.00, was reported stolen from a home in the 100 block of Byberry Road sometime between March 15, 2020 and March 19, 2020.
