Hatboro, PA: Hatboro Police Chief James E. Gardner announces the investigation into the reported assault of a 19-year-old Hatboro woman occurring in the first block of Belmar Road, Hatboro, early this afternoon. The woman reported to police that she exited her home on Belmar Road at approximately 12:07 P.M. today and entered the driver’s side of her vehicle that was parked on the street. As she was sitting in the vehicle an older black Dodge Ram pick-up truck, with large black tires, running boards and a yellow sticker on the rear chrome bumper drove past and stopped. It appeared something in the bed was covered with a blue tarp. The male driver then exited the truck and approached the passenger’s side of the woman’s vehicle. At that point the male allegedly opened the passenger’s side door and attempted to grab the woman by her arm, and she believe he was trying to physically pull her from the vehicle. She sustained some scratches on her forearm. She yelled for help and struggled with the male who ultimately ran off, got back in to his truck and departed west on Belmar Road. The vehicle was last seen traveling south on Blair Mill Road.

According to the victim, she does not know the male, nor is she familiar with the truck he was operating. The male subject did not say anything to the victim during the incident. The subject is described as a while male, 45-50 years, pale complexion, tall and skinny build, brown shoulder length hair, long “salt & pepper” beard, last seen wearing a green t-shirt, and tan cargo shorts. Anyone with information on this incident is asked to call the Hatboro Police Department at 215-675-2832.
