On Monday, March 11, 2024, Mark Ruegg was sworn in as Hatboro’s new Chief of Police! Chief Ruegg was sworn-in alongside his family (pictured) who assisted Mayor Schultz in administering the oath of office. Countless other family members, friends, and colleagues were also in attendance for this momentous occasion, all of whom are extremely proud of his accomplishments.
Chief Ruegg began his service with the Hatboro Police Department in 2003 and through his dedication to Hatboro rose through the ranks of the department. Over the years he has served as a member of the Montgomery County Swat Team, various special units/task forces for the department and most recently Deputy Chief of Police. His strong leadership and immense experience make him the perfect Chief for the Hatboro Police Department following the retirement of Chief Gardner in February. Chief Ruegg constantly puts the safety of the Hatboro Community before himself and we cannot think of a better person to lead the Hatboro Police Department! On behalf of Borough Council, Mayor Schultz, and Borough Staff, Congratulations Chief Ruegg!!
