Hazardous Wastes are not collected by the Borough of Hatboro Public Works Department. The following items are considered hazardous waste and should be disposed of at a County-sponsored Hazardous Waste Event listed below:
Gasoline, oil, kerosene, turpentine, paint thinner, oil paint, stains, varnish, pool chemicals, herbicides, pesticides, antifreeze, caustic cleaners and solvents, mercury, thermometers, flares, fire extinguishers, lead acid batteries, rechargeable batteries, fluorescent tube light bulbs and ballast, CFL bulbs, mini propane canisters, and electric/oil filled heaters.
Each year Montgomery County sponsors a free hazardous waste collection program for Montgomery County Residents. These events are held at various locations throughout Montgomery County. The current Hazardous Waste Event Schedule is as follows:

Southeastern Pennsylvania Hazardous Waste Events
Montgomery County Residents may also participate in any of the Southeastern Pennsylvania Hazardous Waste Collection Events. These events occur in Delaware, Chester, Bucks, and Philadelphia Counties and are free of charge.
