As the Borough previously announced in prior press releases, notifications, and announcements during public meetings, Borough Staff and the Borough Engineer have been routinely inspecting the West Monument Avenue Bridge. These inspections have been taking place since the County’s closure of the West Moreland Avenue Bridge and will continue to take place every few weeks throughout the project’s duration.

On Friday, March 20, 2026, the Borough of Hatboro will be closing the West Monument Avenue Bridge from 6:45 AM to approximately 8:00 AM for another routine bridge inspection. The Borough attempted to schedule this inspection at a less busy time of day; however, this was the only time that Borough personnel and the Borough Engineer were available to conduct the inspection. In order to ensure the safety of Borough staff and Engineers, the Borough has made the decision to close the bridge to traffic while the inspection is taking place.

The Borough has notified first responders and emergency personnel regarding the closure. If needed, emergency personnel will be granted access to the bridge during the closure period.

We are asking motorists to make note of the closure and again reminding everyone when traveling on surrounding streets in this area to please remember to obey all traffic rules and regulations.
