On Monday, December 5, 2022 Borough Council discussed the proposed 2023 Operating Budget for the Borough of Hatboro during their regularly scheduled Committee Meeting. This discussion included a presentation on the budget that can be viewed/downloaded below:
In conjunction with the 2023 Operating Budget, Borough Council is proposing the following millage rates for 2023:
- General Fund: 7.801 Mills
- Sinking Fund: 1.352 Mills
- Fire Protection Fund: 0.925 Mills
- Union Library: 0.55 Mills
- Total: 10.628 Mills
This proposed increase in millage results in an average tax increase of $100-115 per household (based on the average assessment for the Borough of Hatboro). As noted during the Committee meeting, the Finance Committee of Borough Council and Staff worked diligently to minimize any increase in taxes for 2023; however, with rising operating costs due to inflation, a slight tax increase was unavoidable.
A copy of the preliminary operating budget is available for review at Borough Hall (temporarily located at Pennypack Facility – 130 Spring Avenue) or by emailing Borough Manager Diane Hegele: dhegele@myhatboro.org.
Residents are encouraged to review the preliminary operating budget and provide comments and concerns. Borough Council will be considering the adoption of the final 2023 Operating Budget at their December 19, 2022 Council Meeting. This meeting will begin at 7 PM and will be held in the gym of the Pennypack Facility. All are welcome to attend.
