November 15, 2023 Williams Lane Closure

The Borough has been working with the contractor Miller and Sons who unexpectedly closed Williams Lane this morning (11/15/23) for work associated with a PECO project. The contractor informed the Borough that the road will need to remain closed for another hour (until approximately 11:30 AM) to allow excavation to take place. Once this is performed, Williams Lane will have one lane open to allow residents, business owners, and deliveries to access the area.

In order to complete the work prior to the parade, Williams Lane will be completely closed between York Road and Orchard Avenue tomorrow, Thursday, November 16th from 7 AM to 4 PM. The road will be open to traffic between the hours of 4 PM and 7 AM when work is not taking place. The Borough has notified emergency services of this closure accordingly. At this time, the Contractor believes all work can be completed by 4:00 PM tomorrow, November 16th; however, if they need to close Williams Lane on Friday, November 17th, they will inform the Borough tomorrow and we will notify residents and business owners accordingly.

We thank residents and business owners for their patience while the Borough resolved this issue with the contractor. Borough policy requires proper notification when closing roads, and this contractor did not follow. Notification is required for non-emergency work so we can ensure our residents can access neighborhoods, emergency vehicles can properly respond to emergencies, and our businesses do not experience issues with operations or deliveries.
