Owned and operated by Mark Henkels since 1986, DeLuca Music is located right in the heart of beautiful Hatboro at 56 S. York Road. Deluca Music Co. is a full line music store that has been serving the community since 1959.

History behind DeLuca Music Co.

In 1959, Dave DeLuca opened DeLuca Music Co. at a location in Willow Grove. In 1986, he was ready to sell the business and Mark Henkels, one of his music teachers at the time, was interested and purchased the business from him. After a fire took place in the original Willow Grove shop, former Mayor, Joe Celano, told Mark Hatboro would be a great new home for Deluca Music. As a child Mark shopped on Main Street with his mom and siblings, which fostered his love and adoration for Hatboro. Seizing the opportunity, Mark moved Deluca music to 126 S. York Road in 1995 where he stayed until their current location at 56 S. York Road became available in 1998. Years later, Mark, who is also a professional saxophone player, purchased the building in 2005.

DeLuca Music offers many services such as sales of new and used instruments, repairs, school rentals, as well as lessons which Mark feels is the future of DeLuca Music.

Deluca Music has offered lessons for decades and in 2006, moved their full-scale music lesson studio to the second floor of the building. Today, the learning space is comprised of ten separate studios and staffed with 20 extremely skilled teachers to provide lessons in: guitar, bass, ukulele, piano, drums, voice, violin, cello, saxophone, clarinet, flute, and music theory.

Deluca’s music students achieve levels as they advance in lessons and are awarded a wristband or trophy as well as two recitals and a free photo day as their skills develop. Online lessons are also available which makes everything more convenient students.

Deluca Music Academy has taught musicians of all skill levels, from beginners, to local musicians and even national acts who’ve toured the country.
