The Borough of Hatboro received notice that Land Stewards will begin an invasive species removal project in Miller Meadow on July 2, 2024. This work will involve the removal of the invasive mugwort plant that has overrun portions of the existing meadow.
In order to completely remove the invasive mugwort plants, Land Stewards will be applying herbicides in the rear portions of the meadow. Beginning the afternoon of July 2, 2024, we ask all residents and visitors to avoid Miller Meadow during this time. This will allow representatives from Land Stewards to mobilize, prepare the site, and begin work efficiently.
Hatboro Public Works will be placing snow fence around the affected area once it is treated to keep wildlife away from plants that have been sprayed.
Land Stewards is a highly experienced ecological-based landscape firm that specializes in design, construction, restoration, and management of meadows and open space. Their firm was carefully selected by Borough Council to conduct the invasive species removal which has been widely requested by Borough residents.
