The Borough noticed that many residents and business owners placed their trash and recycling out for collection yesterday, November 11, 2025 despite the Veteran’s Day holiday. It was very windy, and a lot of the trash and recycling has blown around on lawns and in the roadway.
If you have cans out for collection from Tuesday, you will need to remove them from the curb as well as clean up any of your trash and recycling that may have blown onto the street or neighbor’s property.
The Borough has been reminding residents and business owners for the past month a holiday was approaching and that there would be no collection, yet it appears many missed the reminders.
As a reminder, we DO NOT collect refuse on the following holidays:
New Year’s Day
Good Friday
Memorial Day
Independence Day
Labor Day
Veterans Day
Thanksgiving Day
Day after Thanksgiving
Christmas Day
Note: If the Holiday falls on a Saturday, then it is observed on the Friday before, if it falls on a Sunday, then it is observed the Monday after.
This information is also included in the Borough’s newsletter and on the Trash/Recycling pages of the website.
We are in the process today of scheduling a number of reminders over the next two weeks letting everyone know there IS NO trash or recycling collection on Thanksgiving Day and the Day after.
On behalf of the Borough of Hatboro thank you for your cooperation.
