Tuesday, January 17, 2023 Storm Recap

The Borough of Hatboro would like to thank our Public Works Department for their incredible effort in clearing the Borough’s streets during and after yesterday’s snow storm. The Department was called in 9 PM on Monday evening and began mobilizing in preparation of the storm. While residents were sleeping, our crews worked to salt and plow streets and continued to do so until 5 PM Tuesday evening. In addition to clearing roadways and Borough owned parking lots, our Public Works Department clears all Borough owned sidewalks throughout town, all of which needed to be shoveled by hand this storm since the snow was not enough for the use of a snowblower. The Borough is extremely grateful to have a department full of extremely dedicated men who work extremely hard to keep our streets clear and safe for travel. It’s not an easy job whatsoever and we cannot thank them enough for all they do for Hatboro!

The Borough would also like to give a few important reminders about snow removal for residents and business owners: Snow and ice must be removed from all sidewalks, fire hydrants, handicap ramps, curbs, and curb cutouts, within 24 hours of yesterday’s snow storm (approximately 3 PM today, Wednesday, January 17th). A path of at least 36 inches wide needs to be made. Do not shovel, snowblow, plow, or throw snow into the street, onto a fire hydrant, or the sidewalk. Be safe and stay warm!
