Draft Town Center Ordinance

On Tuesday, March 14, 2023, the Planning Commission of the Borough of Hatboro was presented with a proposed Town Center Ordinance.

The Town Center ordinance was conceptualized by the Zoning Sub Committee of the Borough of Hatboro and has taken nearly two years to prepare. This ordinance was developed with downtown development in mind and focuses on creating a business district “hub” within the Borough’s Zoning Code.

The Town Center Districts are designed to replace the existing RC-1 and RC-2 Retail Commercial Districts with TC-1 and TC-2 Town Center Districts.

The Town Center Ordinance will be discussed in detail at upcoming Planning Commission meetings; however, the Borough wants to give residents the opportunity to review the draft ordinance and provide feedback on the proposed new zoning districts.

Please note, the below drafts are not final and are subject to change. As the Planning Commission discusses changes, this ordinance will be edited accordingly by the Borough’s Planning Expert.

Once a final draft is proposed for adoption, the ordinance will be advertised and a hearing will be scheduled accordingly.

Residents that have questions or concerns regarding this ordinance are encouraged to attend upcoming Planning Commission meetings. If you are unable to attend future PC meetings, residents are welcome to email comments and questions regarding the ordinance to Borough Manager, Diane Hegele at dhegele@myhatboro.org.
