Pedestrian Improvement Project Update: Marino Corp is continuing to work to resolve issues with the underground utilities in the area of York Road and Summit Avenue. Marino Corp informed the Borough that Summit Avenue will be closed as needed between the hours of 9 AM – 3 PM on 1/11-1/12/24 and 1/15-1/17/24 in order to complete necessary work. The contractor will continue to work at York and Summit on 1/18 and 1/19/24; however, Summit Avenue is not expected to be closed on these days. During periods of work, there will be temporary traffic restrictions and changes in traffic patterns possible. The Borough is continuing to work with the contractor in attempt to obtain work schedules multiple days in advance to ensure adequate notice to residents, business owners, and motorists. Please note, all work is weather dependent and these dates of work may change depending on inclement weather.
The contractor has not informed the Borough of any work to be performed at York and Williams or Jacksonville and Meadowbrook at this time and only plans on performing work at York and Summit through January 19th.
Residents and motorists are also reminded that businesses along York Road are still open their regular operating hours during the period of work. There will be times where you may need to find alternate parking and walk a little further to reach your favorite shops. The business owners continue to greatly appreciate your support. Once this project is complete, pedestrian access in town will be greatly improved making it much easier, safer, and more convenient to shop small, shop local, and SHOP HATBORO!
